What is incisional draining?

This type of service is necessary when a client has an open incision a drain or a JP drain. The postop specialist will gently push the fluid towards the openings. We will continue doing this as long as the incision is open. Note, we do not open incisions. This will help the body get rid of the inflammation that can cause a lot of pain. This will bring comforting relief.

Why is incisional draining so important following surgery?

Incisional draining is important following surgery to prevent infection and promote healing. A surgical incision creates an open wound in the skin that is susceptible to infection by bacteria and other microorganisms. Draining the incision helps to remove any fluid or blood that may have accumulated in the wound, reducing the risk of infection and allowing you to heal more quickly.

Incisional draining should be performed 48 hrs following surgery up until 2 weeks post-surgery.

All Incisional Drainage sessions are 60 minutes long and can be performed in-spa or in the comfort of your home.
